Production & Concept Brief
The Monsters Were Never The Point is an illuminated Victorian gothic video piece that draws deep thematic inspiration from classical gothic lore (Penny Dreadful, Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and werewolf mythology).
Rather than treating gothic monsters as external threats, the track and visual narrative examine them as allegories for unresolved grief, shame, exile, and internal conflict—culminating in the realization that redemption lies in accepting our humanity rather than denying our shadows.
Visual & Atmospheric Style
- Aesthetic: Victorian gothic manuscript artwork, candlelit shadows, London fog, dark muted tones with crimson accents, and illuminated calligraphy.
- Themes: Shadow integration, psychological resilience, self-compassion, and tragic beauty.
